Okara

Lovie is building the financial infrastructure layer for starting and running a company. With Okara, its lean team markets each product individually—from company formation and banking to virtual cards, equity management, and token operations—without hiring a separate marketing team for every product.

The challenge

Lovie’s team operates according to a philosophy it calls “manager of one.” Everyone on the team owns a complete product vertical end to end: building it, distributing it, marketing it, and supporting it.

It just felt like the exact sort of tool we would want to be using for the thing that we don't do. We're not in the business of marketing, but if we had been, we probably would have wanted it to look something like Okara.

Jacob Carter, Product Manager, Lovie

“We all have access to AI, and with the power of AI, we should be able to own one whole thing end to end across any role. If I’m responsible for virtual credit cards, I should be able to build the product, and then I should also be able to distribute it, market it, and support it.”

Jacob Carter, Product Manager at Lovie

That philosophy works well for shipping products, but it means a small team must also cover work normally handled by a marketing hire, SEO agency, content writer, and community manager.

Lovie needs to do that for every product line it launches—from company formation and virtual cards to banking, equity management, cap-table tooling, and token operations.

Why Okara

Lovie discovered Okara through word of mouth in its founder network, and the fit was immediate.

Lovie itself is built MCP-first, so a marketing platform with a similarly AI-native architecture felt like a natural extension of its existing workflow rather than a separate, bolted-on tool.

A few things stood out to the team:

  • AI-first architecture: Okara plugs directly into Lovie’s existing AI stack instead of requiring a separate workflow.
  • A simple, technical interface: Lovie’s team is largely technical. Okara’s compact dashboard makes important information easy to understand without the complexity of a traditional marketing suite.
  • Campaigns scoped to individual products: Lovie treats each product almost like its own company, with its own audience and go-to-market motion.

“Having interfaces feel more devx-oriented is very convenient, especially for me checking in. We’ve come from the world of writing code by hand, so these compact, curated interfaces are really great. That’s what I like most.”

Formation, powered by Okara

Formation is Lovie’s flagship live product. It helps founders—many of whom operate outside the United States—register a US company, appoint a registered agent, and establish US operations in minutes rather than weeks.

It is also the product for which Lovie has used Okara most extensively.

By running SEO and content campaigns through Okara, Lovie achieved:

  • A 56% improvement in average search position
  • A 73% increase in click-through rate from search
  • A 20% increase in US traffic
  • Company formation in approximately 5–6 minutes

Overall site visits also experienced a significant lift whenever the team was actively running campaigns.

The increase in US traffic was especially notable because Formation’s existing audience already skewed heavily international. That growth represented genuinely new reach rather than a shift within its established audience.

“Formation has been boosted heavily, I think, because of the way that we’ve leveraged Okara.”

What’s next

Lovie is preparing to launch virtual cards and banking, built with its banking partner Increase, alongside a desktop application.

Its equity, cap-table, and token-operations products are already available in beta.

As each product launches, Lovie plans to apply the same product-by-product marketing approach through Okara that has already worked for Formation.
